about

My uncle Donald passed away 2 years ago in a tragic car accident. It really made me realize that life moves fast and before you know it everything can change. ”Wrong Place, Wrong Time” is about how the most minuscule sequence of events can impact you’re future. My father said that Donald always liked to leave work 5 min earlier. If he had left five minutes later or stopped for coffee he might still be with us. I know the subject of this song is a bit melancholy, but Donald’s birthday was December 8th - and I couldn’t think of a better way to commemorate his memory than posting this song.

As we quickly approach the holiday season, I challenge everyone to take a moment today and tell someone that you love them. A family member, a loved one, or a friend. Life is crazy and you'll never truly appreciate someone until they are gone.

lyrics

It was a Thursday night
When your brother called me up
Said he was running late
Out on the interstate

He drove a Jesus Chrysler
Down by the Jersey turnpike
He crossed the divider
Then heaven decided

To run with all the
Plans we never got to make
Would he be alive
If he made a right
At the wrong place the wrong time

Now we’re at the funeral
The strangers come dressed in black
Throwing roses in floral park
To cope with a broken heart

Now there’s just five of you
arguing what to do
Living your separate lives
Cutting the family ties

To run away from
Plans well never get to make
I keep asking why
it doesn’t matter
Who’s really right
At the wrong place the wrong time

When you lose something that you love
That feeling never goes away
It just becomes
a part of who you are
No matter how hard you try
You don’t decide
The wrong place the wrong time

The wrong place the wrong time
